EligibilityYou must have a numeric index on the April hpGA index report not to exceed 36.4 (men) and 40.4 (women). FormatBest Two Balls of Four (although hpGA Club qualifying is done individually). Play will be 90% (men) and 95% (women) of the course handicap using a maximum current index of 18.4 for calculation. All members with indexes of 18.5 and above are eligible but must play to a maximum index of 18.4. Course handicaps for women will be adjusted accordingly. The player's April index will be used for the Club qualifier. hpGA Club Qualifier FormatWe will again go with the "Steady-Eddy / Streaky-Steve" criteria for determining the qualifying members. We will pick two players from each of the two categories (with alternates) to represent our team. Everyone attempting to qualify will be scored under both criteria. The Steady-Eddys will be scored using a modified Stableford scoring system based on net score as follows:
Highest score wins. The Streaky-Steves' scores will be based on the number of net birdies. (Net eagles count as 2 birdies, net double eagles count as 3 birdies.) Highest score wins. The two lists will be ordered from first to last, breaking ties as necessary. Then we will select the first Steady-Eddy, the first Streaky-Steve, the second Steady-Eddy, the second Streaky-Steve, the first alternate Steady-Eddy and finally, the first alternate Streaky-Steve. (The same player will not be selected more than once except when determining alternates.) We will use the USGA suggested method of breaking ties, using the last 9 holes net, the last 6, the last 3, the last hole, etc....
