Plumas Lake (Par 71)
A beautiful day in Marysville, not too hot and just a hint of a breeze. And the greens are still pretty good. They do make it an adventure when you finally make it to the green. Ken Findley celebrated his return from Marina with his first sub-80 round since he left. They're hard to come by on the Black Horse course. He won Low Gross by three strokes. Ken had the only birdies on the par-3 seventh and par-5 fifteenth as part of his round. Ray Barrett won the Low Net award in a tie-breaker over Don Myers. Don bogeyed the last, while Ray finished with a par for the difference. Don Myers won the first flight. Don did manage the only par on the par-3 third hole. Alcinda Wolff won the second flight, and managed birdies on the par-5 fifth hole and the par-3 sixteenth. Carolyn Larson won the third flight. Both she and Alcinda were playing from the much harder red tees this year, thanks to some bad information they received from fellow competitors. Finishing off the skins report, Mike Rapoza got the only birdie on the par-4 17th and Randy Wolff was the only one who could par the par-3 thirteenth. The only other birdies were from Walter Larson and Bill Boom on the par-5 fifth hole, and Jay Haro on the par-3 sixteenth.
